[Unzap] determining carrier freq

Hello there.  I have been browsing the git repository to get a feel for the code and one thing I don't really see is how the carrier frequency is detected.  I've always wondered about this and if it is doable why not all of the commercial universal remote vendors do it.  Can someone give me just a quick walkthrough or block diagram of the interesting parts of unzap.c?  Thanks, and awesome project!  Oh, and is there an English version of the store?
